
Maung Thein Myint, also known as Moshor Rof, is a 24-year-old Rohingya human rights defender and the Head of Missions at the Rohingya Aid and Empowerment Network (RAEN). Originally from Northern Rakhine State, Myanmar, he is currently residing in the Rohingya refugee camps in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh. Alongside his work at RAEN, Maung Thein Myint serves as a Senior Material Developer at BRAC within the HCMP Education Sector, where he contributes to educational initiatives aimed at enhancing the lives of displaced communities.
In addition to these roles, he works as a Rohingya Consultant and Resource Person for the Conflict and Resilience Research Institute (CRRIC) in Canada. His diverse expertise spans various fields, including transcription, interpretation, documentary research, and migration studies. He is particularly focused on the Rohingya refugee crisis, the dynamics of migration, and regional conflicts, with a special emphasis on security issues, community development, and resilience within the refugee camps in Bangladesh and Southeast Asia.
Maung Thein Myint possesses deep insights into the humanitarian challenges and geopolitical factors that impact the Rohingya community. He is dedicated to advocating for the rights and well-being of the Rohingya people through his involvement with CRRIC and RAEN. As part of his advocacy work, he frequently organizes and conducts awareness sessions within the camps. These sessions aim to engage various community groups, including children, elders, women, teachers, youth, and adults, with the goal of rebuilding and empowering the community. Through his efforts, he seeks to raise awareness, promote education, and foster a greater understanding of the complex issues surrounding the Rohingya crisis, while also working toward long-term solutions for those affected.
