EDUCATION

The project operates in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, within the Ukhyia and Teknaf sub-districts, where over one million Rohingya refugees live in 34 camps. These communities face extreme weather risks and socio-economic hardships, with Rohingya girls particularly vulnerable to child marriage and gender-based violence, limiting their access to education and opportunities.

Promoting Education as a Human Right

This initiative ensures inclusive education for Rohingya refugees and the host community, using the BD Government Approved LCF curriculum and community-based learning. It incorporates Peace Education, digital learning, and a written script for the Rohingya language to foster cultural expression. CRRIC, with a history of educational initiatives, partners with RAEN, a refugee-led organization championing gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Gender Inclusion and Peacebuilding through Education

The project actively involves both men and women in planning and implementation, ensuring gender-balanced leadership and safe learning spaces. It empowers adolescent girls through education and life skills training (grades 3–6), aiming to delay marriage, enhance maternal health, and improve decision-making.
