Who is Maung Hla Myint?
Maung Hla Myint stands as a beacon of hope and resilience, dedicating his life to advocating for the rights of the Rohingya people. As a youth leader and human rights activist, his unwavering commitment echoes beyond borders and inspires generations to fight for justice and equality. Born on January 10th, 2001, in Aung Seik Pyint Village, Maung Daw Township, Rakhine State, Myanmar.Maung Hla Myint was raised by his parents , Master Ali Ahmed (B.Sc Physics, B.Ed, M.Ed), and Lila Khatun, who instilled in him the values of justice, equality, and respect for human rights from an early age.
However, in 2017, Myanmar authority forced him to flee from his homeland, leading him to reside in a refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh, alongside over a million fellow Rohingya refugees. Despite the adversity, Maung Hla Myint emerged as a beacon of hope amidst the challenges.
His founding of the Rohingya Aid & Empowerment Network (RAEN) stands out as a testament to his visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to his community. RAEN serves as a lifeline for the Rohingya community, empowering individuals, advocating for their rights, and providing vital humanitarian assistance. Through its initiatives, RAEN empowers Rohingya people to become agents of change, amplifying their voices and fostering community resilience. Additionally, RAEN plays a crucial role in raising awareness about the Rohingya crisis, lobbying for policy changes, and providing essential services to those in need. Moreover, RAEN invests in education and skill development, promoting literacy and building capacity within the community.
